My name is William Frederick Cody. I was one of the most colorful figures of the American Old West, and mostly famous for the shows I organized with cowboy themes. I received the Medal of Honor in 1872, for "gallantry in action" while serving as a civilian scout for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment. My life achievements had been an inspiration for my friend Ned Buntline successful dime novel series "Buffalo Bill Cody - King of the Border Men", and I was a living legend.

I was courageous, intelligence, smart, and gallant. That's an undeniable fact. I was never lazy, I was never stupid, and that's a fact. Friends and foes respected me, and that's also a fact. Even the great Sioux warrior Sitting Bull was my friend, and he was once my foe. he respected me, as much as I respected him.

Another fact, I was nicknamed BUFFALO BILL. That's not an insult at all. Far from it, it's the sign of respect toward me.

My name is William Frederick Cody, and I'm proud to be known worldwide as Buffalo Bill.

It is the name of a lance, which is one of the most precious heirloom of Kraton Kasunanan Surakarta. The buffalo is a part of the annual procession carrying the lance, and that's why it is known as 'kebo Kyai Slamet'. It means 'Kyai Slamet's buffalo', not 'Kyai Slamet The Buffalo'. The present buffalo is the descendant of the first albino buffalo to follow the procession.

So, the answer is no. No relation at all to Mahesa Jenar aka Rangga Tohjaya.

pradaksina: Yes, and back to days of their rivalry with Persebaya in the 80s, which coined the term 'sepakbola gajah', they were nicknamed Mahesa Jenar.

conscientizacao: Mahesa Rani was a character created by Arswendo Atmowiloto, in a comic series published in Hai magazines in the 1980s, drawn by the late maestro Teguh Santosa. She was said to be the daughter of Mahesa Rangkah (historically, a minister executed for corruption by Kertanegara). I've written an article about her. You can read it in my MP. : )
